About

The kids aren’t yelling for me or asking for my help, so now is a perfect time to tell you about myself. My name is TR Theiss. I never intended to be a stay-at-home dad, it just happened thanks to a little world-wide pandemic known as Covid-19.

I have always prided myself on being a hands-on Dad. I love being with my kids and I live by the philosophy of taking advantage of every opportunity I can with them. They grow up so fast, you know.

Over the years, my wife and I have always used a teamwork approach to parenting. If I had an issue or question, she has always been there to help out. My wife and I are a great team.

Now that I’m a stay-at-home Dad, my wife safety net is gone during the day. My teammate isn’t there to help me handle things. It’s all on me now. There isn’t anyone around to bounce ideas off.

How hard could it be? I’m staying home with my eight-year-old son, five-year-old daughter and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. During the 2020 – 2021 school year, I’m navigating virtual learning for kindergarten and third grade, all while trying to keep my toddler out of trouble. Piece of cake, right? The best way and only way I know how to handle all the issues in a day is to wing it.
