I’m not the best chef, so when my kids asked me to make them green eggs on St. Patrick’s Day I knew it was a tall task. I told them I was sorry, but I don’t know how to make green eggs. The best I could do is make them regular boring yellow eggs. My kids seemed disappointed, but they understood. Good thing I had a magical leprechaun to help.
I broke the eggs and poured them onto the skillet. I had to step away from the stove, so I asked my son to keep an eye on the eggs while they cooked.
When I came back, I grabbed a spatula to start moving the eggs.
“It’s ok you can’t make green eggs, Dad,” my son tried to reassure me. “Maybe next time.”
He stayed by the stove as I started to move the eggs. Something is happening. What’s going on?
“The eggs are turning green! The eggs are turning green!” he yelled in excitement.
My six-year-old daughter ran to the stove and watched in amazement as the eggs were indeed turning green.
“Did you do this?” I asked my son.
“No, I promise, I didn’t do anything,” he responded.
“Did you turn your back on the eggs at any time?” I questioned.
He thought about it and said, “Maybe once”.
“That’s all the time a leprechaun needs to zip in and use his magic,” I told him as it all started to sink in. The leprechaun used magic to turn the eggs green!
The kids were so excited. Even my toddler who says she doesn’t like eggs, but will eat them as long as we tell her it is an omelet.
Thanks leprechaun for using your magic to turn our eggs green. St. Patrick’s Day is off to a great start!
